    :police: Important Notice: I no longer would collect images that aren't at LEAST 48 hours old.

    :target: Plese read the FAQ #295: What exactly is an "Abuse or Exploit of the System"?.

    :| As I run (at least in theory) 4 Clubs and have another 15 or so on my watch, I noticed that some Deviants send their brand new images to ALL Clubs few minutes after submitting. With new Collection system said image could get 12 or more favs from Clubs alone in first 8 hours, and land on front page. We, as Club administrators, are supposed to report this kind of abuse. To avoid an unpleasant situation we are just REFUSING to accept those images. If somebody sends the image to the Club BEFORE the image is 48 hours old, they not only won't get the image accepted, they loose their weekly quote as there WON'T be a second note with different image allowed.

    :D I am going on vacation this Saturday, July 19th, for two weeks, and the Club won't be active till I am back. So don't be surprised that your images aren't added to Collections or your Join notes go unanswered. :) I will catch up on all that when I am back, after August 3rd. :D

      Submissions:



        :target: You have to be a Member to submit. :target:

        ONE image per week per Member ONLY. Photography category, macro AND close-up. THUMBS only!
        The week still counts from Sunday till Saturday.
        The images have to follow dA rules of submission - correct size and correct category.

        :new: How it works. :new:

        1 - you send your submission to Club the normal way by note - THUMBS only - with *Submit* in subject line;
        (I no longer accept links, sorry)

        2 - I add your ORIGINAL deviation to collection folder for corresponding week - and probably to some other collection folder I'd develop for better management ;)

        3 - you know your deviation got *admitted* to the club because you get the fav notification in your message center, together with the link to folder in was placed in;

        4 - you could click on the folder name at this point and see all other *admitted* deviations, ORIGINALS just like yours, that you could collect or :+fav: without worrying that you would add Club submission to favorites by accident;

        5 - during the week there would be 3 or 4 screen shots of the weekly folder posted as deviations from club, with link to the folder in description, so everybody watching the Club (and not always submitting) will get notification that there are new *admissions* to see (and same like for you, they would see originals so Members won't lose :+fav:s to club submissions when those are collected);

        6 - once a week there could be a journal posted, again with links to current folder, links to past folders, and a bunch of *preview* thumbs to wet the appetite for visiting collections.

        :please: Please, DO NOT thank the Club for :+fav:s - those are your SUBMISSIONS.
        I would prefer if you spend that time looking at works of other Club Members. :please:


        The rules would be posted in Club's FAQ section as soon as I manage.



      What I ask from all of you:


        Please, read carefully.

        :D The images you send are added to Club favorites. There isn't an easy way for me to keep tabs on all submissions from every Member to make sure only ONE allowed per week is added. So this system is based on basic trust. I TRUST you not to send more than the Club allows. :D

        :) Please keep track of your submissions, maybe by creating separate folder in your notes just for those sent to the Club. (As the Club could add your image to favorites only ONCE, if you send the same image again I will assume that you want to re-submit it. So I will remove the current :+fav: and then collect it again into current folder.)

        :) If you send more than one submission per week and I will catch it, you will receive a warning. If you repeat it again, you will lose your submission quote for the whole month. Third offense would get you banned from the Club page. Sorry, I had rather bad experience with cheaters so far.




    I am open to suggestions...

      ...about Collection folders.

      :D We could have folders for different categories if you think it would help getting more attention for your images. If we do, you could ask in your submission note to place your image into that folder too.

      :D We could have folder for Advanced Critique request, where Members looking for tips to improve could place their weekly submissions.

      :D We could have ANY kind of folder you think might be useful to promote works of Club Members. As you all know, Collections are collectible.

    Proposition for Submission change.


      Please read the following CAREFULLY.

      :O_o: As the Club approaches 1,000 Members mark it's harder and harder to keep the submissions level at what it is now - ONE image per week per Member - without working myself to the ground and without flooding your Inboxes with tens of deviations daily. :(
      Cutting submissions numbers in half is an option but would the Club give the Members the extra recognition then?

      :D So here comes the proposition.

      :bulletred: Instead of posting duplicate of Member image to Club gallery we ADD it to our Collections. There would be folders created there for weekly *submissions* and your images would "land" in proper folder upon *submitting*.

      :bulletred: To see the *submitted* to the Club images you just visit the Collection folder - and see there all ORIGINAL images you could fav to your heart desire without thinking about it. All favs and collections from there would go to ORIGINAL.
      :) Links to Collections with submitted images would be placed in front Journal too, for easy access.

      :bulletred: I was thinking about switching to collecting or faving for some time now, but I didn't have clear plan on HOW to notify members about submissions other than their own (they will get a fav from club) and counting on that they will click on the folder their work landed in to see the works of others. Then it hit me and so there you go:

      :D After collecting members submissions into folder, I will take a screen shot of the folder and post it as deviation with link to said collection folder. This way all Members would get notification about submissions, all they will have to do is visit the folder with *collected* works following the link and do what they usually do - collect what they like and skip the rest.
      :D There will be 3 or 4 such screen shots posted during the week, depending on the amount of *submissions* - a far cry from 60+ Club deviations you are getting now in said week.
      :D I could post a journal once a week with links to folders - sorted or as is or both - with few thumbs over the link as preview.

      :bulletred: Those changes would require the basic honesty within Members - sending only allowed amount of images for *collecting*. It would also require actively watching the Club - both deviations and journals. If you are not paying attention to what other Club Members are *submitting* you can't expect them to pay attention to your *submissions*.

      :phew: I hope I didn't forget about anything important. I will try to answer the questions you undoubtedly will have as clearly as possible. The Poll will go up shortly after this Journal, mostly to let me see how YOU see it. Please, try not to vote without leaving comment WHY you vote the way you do. :D

    Due to increasing number of :+fav:s the Club is receiving the Members are asked to retrieve them from the Club submissions by themselves. It's no longer possible for me to send dozens of notes every day.

    So please, check your submissions in our gallery regularly, and if you see they are faved there (see the "Who"), send a reminder and ask to :+fav: the original.

    Today was the LAST Submission Journal from the Club.

    :new: As of Monday, May 5th, there is ONE submission per week per Member.
    Week would be counted from Sunday till Saturday, EST.

    :target: New Rules: :target:

    :bulletred: Your submission must be a macro or a close-up photograph.
    If it's not, it's not accepted.

    :bulletred: Your submission must be a finished work, clearly in focus, neat and well presented.
    Snapshots won't be accepted.

    :bulletred: Your submissions should abide by dA rules: they should be in correct size and in correct category.

    :bulletred: As the Club post only small view of the submitted images, your image HAS TO HAVE it.
    Images without small 300 px view won't be accepted.

    :bulletred: Please consider sending your best images for Club submission - they should be an invitation for other Members to visit your Gallery.


    So from now on ALL suitable submissions will be added to Club Gallery.
    Journals would be reserved for features, updates, and contests.
